October 4, 2016

transcosmos inc.

transcosmos inc. (Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan; President and COO: Masataka Okuda; TSE First Section: 9715; hereafter, transcosmos) opened “Marketing Chain Management Center Oita (hereafter, MCM Center Oita)”, its 51st operational base in Japan, in Oita city, Oita prefecture, and held opening ceremony on October 3.

Leveraging digital communication capabilities such as chat, LINE, messenger apps and more, in addition to traditional call, MCM Center Oita acts as a “multi-contact communication center” by combining the cutting-edge technologies and sophisticated communication channels.

From the initial phase, marketing planners from transcosmos’s digital marketing business have been deeply engaged in the MCM Center Oita project, developing branding strategies and plans for the new center. Under the themes of “improving work-life balance,” “improving environment to foster open communication” and “improving office environment”, working members of the new center took the lead and setup “Employee-friendly, comfortable workplace Lab (hatarakigokochi-lab)”. Now, the team disseminates their activities via MCM Center Oita website and its Facebook page.

transcosmos exercised its full ingenuity and creativity to make the office comfortable for both employees and the visitors. To reflect the image of hot spring, one of the essences of Oita’s traditional culture, the interior texture design is based on YUKATA pattern, casual and more relaxing type of KIMONO, a typical wear for hot springs. Furthermore, lighting fixtures in the office use bamboo craftwork, Oita’s traditional artwork. The center also offers open and functional meeting space, “Kid’s room”, where employees can bring in their kids and talk about their work related challenges with their supervisors and peers, “Refresh room”, which claims 360 degree panorama view of Oita station, as well as “Powder room” for female employees. With all those creative ideas, the new center embodies transcosmos’s relentless efforts for creating employee-friendly, comfortable workplace, especially from women’s perspective.

Thanks to the team’s efforts in running community-rooted branding activities and actively sending out information, hiring activities are also making steady progress.

MCM Center Oita plans to employ 300 staff by 2018. transcosmos, with the backup support from Oita city and the prefecture, aims to contribute for community revitalization and development in order to provide broader opportunities for working women to unlock their full potential.
