transcosmos Develops 360 Panorama VR App “UNITED ARROWS ROPPONGI 360° VR” Delivers Virtual Experience of UNITED ARROWS ROPPONGI HILLS Store

(Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan; President and COO: Masataka Okuda; TSE First Section: 9715; hereafter, transcosmos) today launched the 360° Panorama VR app, which delivers virtual experience of ROPPONGI HILLS flagship store of “UNITED ARROWS (hereafter, UA)”, the major brand of UNITED ARROWS LTD.

UA ROPPONGI HILLS store celebrated its renewal opening in September 2016, as UA’s flagship store, boasting the largest floor space exceeding 1,400 square meters. The store represents the next generation UA, balancing the Japanese identity and the appeal of select shop which creates a world of diversity.

transcosmos has developed the VR app which enables the users to virtually experience the charm of the new UA store via 360° panoramic images and supports UA to deliver the new value of experience to their customers.



Links and hotspots are set on the 360° panoramic images enable the users to virtually walk around the enormous floor and check detailed information of each section and item at hotspots.

“We are delighted and proud to release the service. As the layout of UA ROPPONGI HILLS store, the duplex-style building with large floor space, fits with the features of VR, we have decided to develop the app,” said Hisashi Oya, Information Systems Department at UNITED ARROWS LTD. “Initially, we thought it will take time and cost to develop an app, but it only took less than a month after photo shooting. We have fully considered the optimum presentation to show our store in a way which makes the customers feel as if they were actually in the store, enjoying shopping and also make them visit the store after having virtual store tour. I am confident that the app has become one of our tools to communicate the appeal of our store to our customers in a unique way which is different from website or magazines. We appreciate transcosmos’s professional VR team for developing the app, leveraging the innovative VR technology, to bring the benefits to the customers that only VR can offer, as well as for reflecting all the messages that our company wanted to deliver to our customers via the app. Going forward, we will take on a challenge to bring a new shopping experience, capitalizing on VR technology.”
