We are delighted that transcosmos inc. and Nagasaki City have signed an agreement for “transcosmos Forest in Hiyoshi Shizen-no Ie (Hiyoshi Nature House).” We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to transcosmos in cooperating and promoting our corporate forest initiatives that are led by companies.
On behalf of all citizens of Nagasaki Prefecture, I also thank you for creating many job opportunities in the prefecture. I understand that you plan to carry out tree planting and recreation activities with your employees and their families in “transcosmos Forest Hiyoshi Shizen-no Ie” under this agreement as an environmental activity based on the spirit of the transcosmos Sustainability Fundamental Policy. Forests play many roles in serving the public interest. We, as a prefecture, will support corporate forest initiatives to maintain and enhance forests’ public functions. We hope that transcosmos will deepen its relationship with Nagasaki City, where the forest is located, and expand this project even more.”
Shiro Suzuki, Mayor of Nagasaki City
We are delighted that transcosmos inc. and Hiyoshi Shizen-no Ie have signed an agreement on the transcosmos Forest project. transcosmos has been serving Nagasaki local communities by creating employment opportunities. We would like to extend our gratitude for your passion in contributing to society in many different ways, going beyond employment, thereby invigorating and making our communities thrive.
Hiyoshi Shizen-no Ie sits in beautiful natural surroundings. Looking at the view, you cannot believe that you are actually in a city. We believe that this corporate forest initiative is very meaningful for children as it provides them with an opportunity to learn and grow through joining outdoor activities that classrooms cannot offer. We expect that various silviculture activities at Hiyoshi Shizen-no Ie such as hardwood tree planting, thinning, and fertilizing will enrich the beauty of nature, which in turn make Hiyoshi Shizen-no Ie a place where people can experience activities they can only enjoyed in a place full of nature. We hope forest management and conservation activities will spread even further, and ultimately help us achieve our goal to make Nagasaki a Sustainable Prefecture.
Hiroyuki Uchimura, Senior Corporate Executive Officer, transcosmos
