Disability Inclusion
“All employees, both with and without disabilities, work together and unleash their individual uniqueness and abilities.” transcosmos believes that this is the philosophy that a company should uphold. It also is our belief that a company should be a place where people with differing individuality and personalities come together, and that this diversity fosters an excellent corporate culture.
Our employees with disabilities who have joined us include those who have hearing and visual impairment, upper and lower limb disorders, and visceral disorders, and they continue to demonstrate their abilities at work. As their employer, we have been proactive in establishing and implementing various schemes to assist our employees with disabilities throughout the company.
General Office Work Jobs
As members of transcosmos, they work at almost all departments of transcosmos, including HR, Finance & Accounting, Public Relations and Advertising, and other business management units by using various types of business tools.
For example, they handle jobs involving payroll and social insurance administration, and back-office work related to hiring activities. They also cover other functionalities from being the contact point for the organization and group companies to promoting compliance activities.

Service-related Jobs (listing advertisement operations)
Our employees with disabilities handle a broad range of jobs. They have their regular presence at the department specialized in “Listing ads (search ads),” which is the core of transcosmos internet promotion services, and handle tasks ranging from “checking ad budget spent,” to “analyzing various kinds of data,” to “generating reports,” or even “adding and bidding keywords” for our clients across industries.
Before taking up a new task, they go through training sessions specifically designed for the services they would be involved in. Once they complete the sessions they will start working as a full member of the team to which they are assigned. We will proactively assign our employees with disabilities to jobs that serve our clients directly.

Technical Jobs (website development operations)
transcosmos corporate website, company intranet, and affiliated companies’ corporate websites are all planned, developed, and operated by our website development team that primarily consists of our employees with disabilities. We also have training programs for inexperienced staff.
As our new business model, we are assigning our employees with disabilities to areas that we consider to be the core of our business operations by organizing them into a specialized team with a high level of expertise.
Support Staff
We are working on creating an inclusive working environment where our employees with disabilities can perform their tasks safely and comfortably.
Our professional staff, including sign language interpreters, psychiatric social workers, and certified social workers are always there to support those employees.

Special Subsidiary (transcosmos assist inc.)
We, as a Tokurei-Kogaisha (a special purpose company that has been approved by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and established as our subsidiary specifically for employing disabled persons), receive and deal with a diverse range of requests and jobs from various departments in transcosmos. We perform not only a general clerical support role but also IT-related supportive tasks generally performed in an IT services company such as employee ID card issuance, survey data editing, data-entry, data aggregation using PCs, and meeting and lecture transcription.
In addition, we operate and manage “PaperLab,” a papermaking system developed by Epson that turns waste paper into new paper. We are broadening our support service activities to include operations that will reduce the environmental burden such as creating business cards and brochures from recycled papers.

Kiri-Origami paper craft (1-year countdown event to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games)
Commemorating the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, we held a two-day “Kiri-Origami paper craft” workshop at AEON MALL Makuhari New City. During the workshop, 600 people from children to adults enjoyed making three-dimensional animals (elephant, giraffe, lion, panda, zebra, and rabbit) by holding and cutting papers.
Other Activities
We, and our Tokurei-Kogaisha have many employees who demonstrate outstanding talent in various fields. Some of our employees engage in job-related-skill competitions in their occupational fields held locally and overseas. We have employees who compete locally and internationally in sports that they have been involved in since their school days. We proactively provide support to our employees who take part in these activities.

Operating “trawell,” our website about welfare facilities for disabled persons, and the products made at those facilities
“trawell” is a website established to inform the public more about welfare facilities where disabled persons work, and the products that they make at those facilities. We are hoping that we can contribute to creating a community where persons with and without disabilities can live in harmony, and provide a place where workers can make their dreams come true by spreading information about welfare facilities and the products made at those facilities. Our young employees with disabilities who work as web engineers and designers are the core members for running the website.
